Determining which permits are needed and the subsequent application process depends on which party is commissioning the work in question. Below are the steps that must be taken in each situation, and by whom.
To determine which permits are needed, you should send the completed ‘Centraal Meldpunt Vergunning’ (central permits contact point, CMV) question sheet by email to the Schiphol CMV (vergunningen@schiphol.nl). You will find this sheet at the bottom of this section. The CMV decides whether a further explanation during a Coördinatie Overleg Vergunningen (Coordination of licensing consultations, COV) is necessary. The CMV will provide you with a list of the permits that are required for your work activities.
You will be advised by the CMV about the next steps you should take regarding your application for the required permits. It is your responsibility to carry out these steps; in other words, you yourself must apply for all the required permits. Besides the permits you apply for from the competent authority, there are permits you need to apply for from various Schiphol departments. You will need a Schiphol account for these Schiphol-specific permits. The CMV can tell you how to apply for an account.
Permit applications that are submitted to Schiphol will be assessed by specialists from the relevant departments at the airport. You will be informed, within the agreed period of time, whether your application for a permit has been approved or rejected. However, you may also receive a request to provide more or more detailed information.
You may only begin work after all the required permits have been granted (by the relevant competent authority and by Schiphol). While carrying out the work, you must adhere to the agreements and preconditions to which the permits are subject. Schiphol reserves the right to monitor this.

You will be advised by the CMV about the next steps you should take regarding your application for the required permits. These can be divided into external and internal permits. External permits are requested from the competent authority and Internal from the responsible department at Schiphol.
When applying for an external permit, you must supply the required information and documents to the relevant Schiphol permits coordinator. The permits coordinator then submits the application to the relevant competent authority. After being submitted, the applications are assessed by the competent authority. You will be informed by the permits coordinator, within the agreed period of time, whether your application for a permit has been approved or rejected. However, you may also receive a request to provide more or more detailed information.
If you require onoe or more internal permits, you will be allocated a permits advisor by Schiphol. This permit advisor will apply for the internal permits on your behalf. You may also be asked to apply for a Schiphol account yourself so that you can submit these permit applications yourself. The submitted internal permits will be reviewed by Schiphol specialists. You will receive feedback from the permit advisor or directly from the permit specialist in the form of a permit grant or rejection within the agreed period. You may also receive a request to provide further clarification or additional information
