‘Schiphol is a wonderful organisation that found itself in heavy weather over the past year. It might sound strange, but the fact that we had to solve operational problems and restore our reputation was an important personal consideration when coming to work for Schiphol. I wanted to be part of the solution. To tackle such a complex task with a team of this calibre is motivating. Of course, it's not always easy, especially when the world around us wants to see quick results. But it's very rewarding when it works out. And we owe that to our reputation and to our travellers. I enjoy travelling and one of my favourite destinations is Japan: a beautiful county with a unique and mysterious culture.'
