The new forecourt at Koepelstraat was recently completed and is now ready for operation. The forecourt was constructed under the Preparatory Activities Forecourt (VBW A) sub-project, as part of the Schiphol Multimodal Hub (MKS) project.
Crew transport and taxis ordered by app will move from the current forecourt (opposite Schiphol Plaza) to their new location at Koepelstraat as of 26 February 2024. Coaches will also be moved to the new forecourt after the summer. This will create space at the current forecourt for the redevelopment of the bus station, which is also part of the MKS project. The new temporary bus station at the top of Koepelstraat - constructed as part of the MKS project for the Schiphol Major Maintenance Project (Groot Onderhoud Schiphol, GOS) - has been in operation since last year.
The new location for crew transport and passengers using taxis ordered by app is just a short five-minute walk from Schiphol Plaza. Signs guide the way from Plaza. The new stops are accessible to taxis and buses via Koepelstraat, which they enter using the signposted side access route. This is a restricted area, which is only accessible with a valid vehicle pass. The stops for taxis ordered by app are E1 to E6. The stops for crew transport are F1 to F6.
The VBW A project also includes making alterations to the waiting lodge for taxi and coach drivers at P41. This lodge will be ready for use before summer 2024.
