Royal Schiphol Group has been actively involved in the development, expansion and activities in Terminal 4 at JFK International Airport since 1997.
Schiphol Group had a strategic interest in North America and set up a joint venture with LCOR (a US real estate developer) and Lehman Brothers called ‘JFK IAT’.
The consortium won the bid for a 30-year lease of the International Arrivals Building in 1997. It was the first private and foreign ownership of a US terminal/airport.
A large team of experts from Schiphol, complemented by US professionals, developed a new terminal to replace the old International Arrivals Building. They created what is now Terminal 4, which opened in 2001. The terminal was renewed and expanded with additional gates to accommodate Delta Air Lines’ hub operation between 2010 and 2015. We are currently looking at future expansion options of the terminal.
T4 is recognised as a world-class facility today, handling nearly 21.6m passengers through Delta Airlines (±64%) and 34 other airlines.
Royal Schiphol Group has a contract with Reina Beatrix Airport on the island of Aruba for the provision of management and technical support.
Royal Schiphol Group is supporting PJIA in the reconstruction of the airport following the hurricane Irma. With our extensive project management experience we are providing hands on support in the organization and realisation of the reconstruction project. Furthermore, we are supporting in the development of a professional organisation and governance structure.
