News  ·  9 SeptemberSchiphol-Oostbaan Runway undergoing maintenance

The Schiphol-Oostbaan Runway will be unavailable from Monday 16 September to Tuesday 24 September as it is undergoing maintenance. On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September, the Schiphol-Oostbaan will be available. We generally only use this runway for small, business and private aircraft, aircraft with a social interest (ambulance, coast guard or government flights) and aircraft that need to be at Schiphol-Oost (for maintenance, for example). During the period of maintenance, this traffic will use the Buitenveldertbaan Runway or one of the other runways.

Repairing asphalt and cleaning lights

In collaboration with Heijmans, we will be working on the asphalt, runway markings and lighting during this period of maintenance. We will repair the runway where necessary, carry out minor repairs and clean the lights. We will also check cables and electricity, and mow the grass around the runway. If necessary, we will flush the drains of the runway.

Which runway is in use?

Want to know which runway will be deployed for small, business aircraft during the maintenance period? That depends on the weather (showers, wind force and direction) and the availability of the other runways. For questions about runway use during periods of maintenance, you can contact the Local Community Contact Centre (BAS). Visit their website visitbas.nl or call 020 601 5555.
