Stake in Hobart International Airport acquired
Royal Schiphol Group has won a coveted international tender for a stake in Hobart International Airport in Hobart, Tasmania. With this tender, the group has acquired a 35% stake in the airport. Another 35% belongs to QIC, which teamed with RSG with the ambition to increase the size of the airport’s terminal and add international flights. Tasplan remains shareholder for the other 30%.

Hobart is the largest airport in Tasmania and the 9th busiest airport in Australia. It handles approximately 2.7-million passengers per year and is fast becoming a high-end destination for travellers from around the world.
The airport represents a key strategic value in the Australian market and is part of Royal Schiphol Group’s overall expansion strategy within the Asia-Pacific region. This investment fits into the groups international ambitions as it strengthens the financial position and expertise within the Group.
