It takes the form of a pilot offered by Schiphol at P1 Short-term parking and the staff car park P12. The service speeds up the payment process as car park users no longer have to stop at the ticket machine but are able to pay contactless on their own smartphone. In addition, the service offers convenience, as passengers no longer have to queue for the ticket machine.
We have seen a huge increase in the use of QR codes as a result of coronavirus. This is a development that we at Schiphol Parking are keen to capitalise on by offering car park users the option of electronic – and thereby contactless – payment for car park tickets. This allows us to contribute to passengers being able to continue their journey quickly, safely and easily.

We are extremely proud to be launching this innovative service at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Smartphone payment is on the rise and its application at Schiphol Parking offers huge benefits for the car park users of the airport. In order to make this service available without an app or registration process, we have partnered up with the Dutch payment platform Adyen.

After scanning the QR code, passengers are immediately redirected to iDeal, where they can settle the payment. That means no app and no registration process are needed. Following the pilot period, Schiphol will be evaluating the results in the second quarter of 2021.
Schiphol Parking is the official provider of parking services at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and – with the exception of Valet Parking – is the only provider of parking products at the airport itself as well as close to the terminal.
