Landside is an easily accessible area for travellers, visitors and people dropping others off or picking them up. It includes the departure and arrival halls, terminals, public transport interchanges, roads and car parks. All of these places have changed a great deal because of the redevelopment projects in and around Schiphol.
We’ve been doing a lot of work landside since 2018. We’ve installed thousands of kilometres of new cables and plumbing. The Handelskade, Havenmeesterweg and Herbergiersstraat junction has been completely rebuilt. The roads for the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee post at the Crew Centre have also been modified. The Ceintuurbaan-Zuid has also been made future-proof. The entrance to the new terminal will later be on this same road.
New roads need new signs. That is why we adjusted more than half of the signs in and around the airport.
