The Temporary Departures Hall was built at Schiphol in 2017, due in part to record growth in traveller numbers within the Schengen zone. We had to roll up our sleeves to get it done on time – and we are very proud of the result. The doors opened for the very first time on 4 April 2017, just before the May holidays. The Temporary Departures Hall will stay in place until the new pier is ready in 2019, and the new terminal in 2023.
The Temporary Departures Hall is over 3,800m². It has 22 check-in desks, 6 security lanes, self-service check-in kiosks, modern bathrooms and various sitting areas where you can relax or work. The light and modern hall is connected to Departure Hall 1 by a corridor. The Temporary Departures Hall provides space to approximately 2-million passengers a year.
