We've achieved a great milestone in the Lounge 1 redevelopment project. The construction of a new technical room at the top of the new lounge means we have reached the highest point of this project. And, in keeping with tradition, that had to be celebrated.

The parties involved met on Thursday 28 March. With the traditional beer, herring and other bites to eat, they gathered in this new part of the lounge that they had been building and watching grow over the past months.
Builder's bonus
The event was led by master of ceremonies Siebolt Bennema (director of Schiphol Projects). During the meeting, Lieve Declerq (director of Spie, which is part of the executive contractor ESAP) and Sybren Hahn (Executive Director Schiphol Infrastructure) reviewed the milestones achieved. Then the equally traditional builder's bonus was awarded by ESAP's two chief executives Engineering and Construction, and we looked ahead to the great achievements that are still to come.
Feeling proud
And those achievements are certainly well on their way. The collaboration with ESAP is going well. So well that work is now even being done on weekends to make up for time lost due to weather conditions. This is something we are extremely proud of.
