Which personal or other data do we process?

If you visit a Schiphol website, we will register the IP address of the device you are using. We may also place cookies on your device. For more information about this, please read our cookie statement.

Moreover, there are a number of ways in which you can leave personal and other data via Schiphol’s website when you use or purchase one of our services:

  • Shopping @Schiphol discount voucher:
    It is possible to order our Shopping @Schiphol discount vouchers via the website. To be able to send these to you, we will process your gender, first and last name, the departure date of your flight and your email address.

  • Lost & found:
    If you have lost an item, you can leave a description of the lost item, your name, email address and telephone number (not required) via Schiphol's website.
  • Feedback:
    You can provide feedback to Schiphol via its website. When you do so, we will not ask for your contact details. We do not recommend that you include in your feedback information that can be traced to you.
  • Flight notifications:
    Via the website, you can request to receive information by text message on flights to and from Schiphol. We will ask you for your telephone number, flight number and fight date to be able to provide you with this information by text message.
  • Parking:
    You can reserve a parking space via Schiphol’s website. For more information about this, read the privacy statement regarding parking.
  • Newsletter:
    You can request a number of different newsletters via Schiphol’s website. To do so, click on the newsletter button.
  • Customer contact:
    You can contact Schiphol in a number of ways via the website. For more information about this, click on ‘contact Schiphol’.
  • VIP:
    You can request VIP services at Schiphol via its website. For more information about this, read the privacy statement regarding the VIP service.
  • Privium:
    You can apply for a Privium membership via Schiphol’s website. For more information about this, read the privacy statement regarding Privium.

Why do we process your personal data?

  • Shopping @Schiphol discount voucher:
    We use your contact details to send you the Shopping @Schiphol discount voucher, to send you (commercial) messages and a reminder on the day that your flight is scheduled to depart. Consequently, we have a legitimate interest in processing your data.
  • Lost & found:
    We use your contact details to get in touch with you. Consequently, we have a legitimate interest in processing your data. We will not use your contact details for other purposes.
  • Feedback:
    We do not recommend that you include personal data when providing Amsterdam Airport Schiphol with feedback. Should you do so nevertheless, we will remove these personal data immediately.
  • Flight notifications:
    We use your telephone number to send you one or multiple text messages with information on your flight. Consequently, we have a legitimate interest in processing your telephone number. We will not use your telephone number for other purposes.

How long do we retain your details?

  • Shopping @Schiphol discount voucher:
    If you have subscribed to our newsletter, we will process your e-mail address until you unsubscribe. In each (commercial) newsletter will offer the option to unsubscribe.
  • Lost & found:
    We will delete your contact details as soon as we have found your lost item.
  • Feedback:
    We do not recommend that you include personal data when providing Amsterdam Airport Schiphol with feedback. Should you do so nevertheless, we will remove these personal data immediately.
  • Flight notifications:
    We will delete your telephone number as soon as your flight has departed or landed.

Who do we share your data with?

  • Shopping @Schiphol discount voucher:
    We will not share your personal data with the retail shops at Schiphol. Schiphol may share your e-mail address with a social media platform in order tos end you (or others) relevant messages via these social media platforms.
  • Lost & found:
    If your lost item is found at an airline, we may possibly share your details with the airline concerned.
  • Feedback:
    We never share feedback with third parties in a way that makes the feedback traceable to an individual.
  • Flight notifications:
    We do not share your telephone number with other parties.
