In the future, travellers will enjoy an improved train station and bus station at our airport: the Multimodal Hub Schiphol (MHS). The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Haarlemmermeer Municipality, Amsterdam Transport Authority, NS, ProRail and Schiphol are collaborating to ensure that Schiphol Airport is a safe and comfortable transport hub for all travellers.

At this hub, many functions come together in a relatively small area. The current public transport interchange and Plaza were built in the 1990s. Since then, the number of public transport passengers has increased significantly and adjustments are therefore necessary to create sufficient capacity.

The MHS project is composed of the following sub-projects:

Facts & figures

  • The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Haarlemmermeer Municipality, Amsterdam Transport Authority, NS, ProRail and Schiphol are collaborating to ensure that Schiphol Airport is a safe and comfortable transport hub for all travellers.
  • The aim of this project is to increase the capacity of the entire hub, guarantee security and ensure better spatial quality.
  • During the project’s implementation, the accessibility and transfer function of the airport will be safeguarded and airport processes will continue as usual.
